Every town needs a Burrito Del Sol. This local, family owned "Fresh Florida-Mex" restaurant has two brick and mortar restaurants, one in Fort Walton Beach, Florida and a new restaurant in Destin, Florida.
The idea for this restaurant was formed in 2012 by three traveling foodies that call Destin their hometown. They quit their day jobs, converted an airstream, and began selling their food to the late night crowd in Destin, Fl. Soon enough, they needed to expand. You can read more about their story on their webpage,
The fact that this place is family and locally owned is great, what's even better is that their food is super delicious. You walk in and instantly know you've found something special. The menu is yours to make. You select your "vehicle", a protein, a style and then any extras that catch your eye.

I love fish tacos on corn, Baja style. This trip, I tried out the chicken nachos. Still Baja for me, please! Oh, with extra Baja sauce.. I'm normally a bit picky on my guacamole, but I love the one here which is chunky, yet creamy. And the queso... delicious, I always get it.
They normally have a special that is a bit different from what is already on the menu. One for the more adventurous eater. One time my husband got a Pad Thai burrito! I like to order at least one of the specials so I can try something new while still enjoying my normal order. This time is was Honey Lime Sriracha Shrimp Tacos and it did not disappoint.
. This place is special and I'm always satisfied when I go. If you get the chance, check it out! It's a gem and
